Nami ryu Iai jutsu, available in both DVD and VHS, demonstrates and explains the intricate and practical art of Iai Jutsu, the rapid tactical deployment of the sword when under duress. Secrets of balance, hidden movement, and energy transfer are explained and demonstrated. Solo kata, two person kata, and tameshigiri, using the techiques practiced in exactly the same manner as the aforementioned kata, are aspects of the art covered in this video. For the art to be valid the techniques that are practiced must actually work when the sword is used for its primary purpose of cutting. This video demonstrates a wide variety of cuts, from the draw, that show the evolution of the practical application of proper training.
