Walther is a long time martial artist, starting his training in 1957, who has also studied Sho-do and Sumi-e. His martial arts background includes training with Ueshiba Morihei and with his son Ueshiba Kishomaru as well as Tohei Koichi. His love for the military arts was paralleled by his artistic appreciation of Japanese brush painting and calligraphy. His works have been exhibited and are in private collections in Japan, Europe, and the United States. Walther is conversant with the many varying styles in the expression of these Japanese arts, which accounts for the repertoire that you find displayed in this catalog. This is art done by a warrior and in varying styles reflects the sometimes powerful, sometimes sensitive nature of a warrior. Custom works in different styles and sizes are available as a special order. All original works are 10"x12".
