Fusahimo were used to tie katana bags closed. They were often bright colors to accent the bag. Our fusahimo come in a variety of colors and match up perfectly with our sword bags. They come free with the purchase of one of our imported Japanese sword bags.
Inryo were used to keep medicines and drugs by Samurai during fuedal Japan. They have several different compartments where a variety of items can be carried. These Inryo feature a variety of designs, and work well with our Netsuke.
Netsuke have a long tradition in Japan. They are a form of functional art that has become a popularly collected item over the last two hundred years. Netsuke were used as a toggle to keep objects worn on the obi such as inryo, tobacco pipes, and purses from sliding through. Netsuke were intricately carved from ivory or wood, and were greatly prized by Samurai.
Japanese Kimono are not the ideal clothing for training or battle, the long sleeves made them comfortable for wearing but sageo was needed for training and battle. Sageo pulled the sleeves back and out of the way for easier movement in sword work.
