We have offered up wara for sale for many years. We have tried very hard to keep the prices down but dramatically rising fuel costs, surcharges, delivery charges, etc. have made for costs that have spiraled out of control. The odd size, shape and weight of the bundles of wara made for expensive shipping no matter how we tried to keep costs down.

As a result of these increasing costs across the board wara are being sold at a flat rate of $160/20 mats, shipping in the continental US included. There will be no extra shipping costs added.

For those local to Bugei Trading Company in San Marcos, California, wara is sold in bundles of 20 for $80 WHEN THE CUSTOMER PICKS THE BUNDLES UP AT OUR LOCATION.

At Bugei Trading Company we spend a significant amount of time and energy using and testing the swords that we sell. This kenjutsu and tameshigiri is one of our pleasures as well as our responsibility. We like to challenge ourselves as well as our blades. The better we get, the better we can design and evaluate the swords we sell to you, our customers. Using the very swords we sell is our testament to their quality and function. At Blade Shows James Williams often demonstrates cleanly through goza with 1 inch oak dowels in the center. This is done with no loss of edge to the blade which James usually demonstrates by cleanly slicing paper with the Bugei katana that had just cut through the oak.

Our Bugei Wara has become very popular and we sell a lot of it. It is longer and wider (6'x4') and rolls up thicker than most conventional mats. It cuts clean like goza omote without the stress and abrasion that goza omote places on the blade.

To get the most out of your practice and to avoid injury please get proper training before attempting Tameshigiri.
